'Kudo' Type B Secateurs 200mm - Carbon Steel

Handmade by Kudo Seikyojo (Kudo Shears), a renowned blacksmith workshop in Yamagata, Japan. Kudo is a genuine family business, now run by the third generation—two brothers—while their father, a second-generation master with over 60 years of experience, still offers his guidance when needed. Together, they continue the tradition of producing award-winning secateurs and pruners, trusted by both professionals and gardening enthusiasts.

These pruners are crafted from high-grade carbon steel, with the blade fully hardened from edge to spine. This results in exceptional durability and cutting performance, capable of cleanly handling branches up to 18 mm in diameter.

They are available in the traditional all-forged steel handle or with a high visibility protective plastic coating on the handle. Please select from the options drop-down.

Type B secateurs are the most common Japanese shape. They feature a thicker ‘clam’ shaped blade approximately parallel to the handles.

Each pair of Kudo Secateurs comes with a spare spring for your convenience. For additional replacements, a replaceable spring and bolt are also available.

200mm total length is the most common size and fits most hands comfortably.
